🔥Turbocharged, Reshaped, Improved: HYDRA 2.0 kicks off at block 477300🔥
The most significant protocol upgrade on the journey to enabling HYDRA 2.0 is now a reality!
The current upgrade is a significant milestone, as it eliminates critical user experience flaws and empowers massive performance upgrades that impact the overall appeal and scalability of the ecosystem.
With the new update, the average transaction wait time from a user standpoint will be ~16 sec (based on the 32 sec block time).
TPS now has a burst capacity of 2000 transactions per second without any sacrifice in terms of decentralization or security. Hardware ressource utilization is on a new level of efficiency.
The upgrade also enables permissionless delegation which unlocks a plethora of use cases.
Staking will be much more accessible, user-friendly, and secure as an experience.
Mobile applications will be capable of provide staking services to newcoming members as they will be acting as user-friendly gateways that connect community members with secured validators.
The permissionless design of HYDRA and the self-calibrating weight formula makes the standard deviation an invariable characteristic, which has a critical impact on user experience. A deviation of 3x from the average block time previously meant multiple minutes of waiting - UX flaw that was exacerbating itself due to the larger block time. Now these deviations will be much more insignificant and likely remain unnoticed.
The current block time reduction has tremendous implications on the staking time standard deviation (also referred as the "luck factor"), which makes staking more accessible to community members who own smaller balances.
All of these factors combined form a unique synergy with the applications built on top of HYDRA.
HydraDex and the Hydra Bridge, as well as all other applications, are capable of propagating transactions much faster which will make the use of the network a much more efficient and enjoyable experience. An important factor that can potentially have an impact on transaction count and volumes in the long term. And since HYDRA burns transaction fees, this makes the upgrade even more synergetic.
I am really confident of how much the HYDRA protocol has compounded as intellectual value and as community support, and our whole team is really excited about what follows next.
Some of the next HYDRA 2.0 features in the immediate pipeline:
- Bridge upgrade with defenders logic and enabling more EVM chains
- LYDRA liquid staking protocol major upgrade that refactors liquidity utilization
- EVM upgrade to match the London version
- DAO trials
Thank you all for being together with us on this journey.
